Description
An end grain butcher block built to be used. Hard maple, 2.25 inches thick, 11.5 pounds of mass that sits where you put it and stays there.
End grain is the hardest way to build a board. Every block has to land true. The grain has to read as one piece, not a patchwork. The reward is a surface that takes a blade and gives it back sharp — and a board that will outlast the kitchen it lives in.
Side handles for the lift. Feet underneath so air moves and the board stays dry. No juice groove on this one — this is a butcher block, made for cleavers and chef’s knives, not for catching jus.
Maple — pale, clean, even. The blank canvas. Lets the food be the colour on the counter.
One of one. When this one ships, it’s gone.
