About These Terms
Northern Prairie Woodworks is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Virden, Manitoba, Canada. By browsing this site, placing an order, or using any of the contact forms, you agree to the terms below.
Products and Pricing
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise noted. Hardwood is a natural material — colour, grain pattern, and figure will vary from board to board, and from the photos shown on each product page. Variation is part of the product, not a defect.
We make a good-faith effort to keep prices, descriptions, dimensions, and availability accurate. If a product listing has an obvious error (wrong price, wrong species, listed when out of stock), we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the original payment in full before shipping.
Orders and Payment
Payment is processed through Stripe and Affirm. We do not store your full card details on our servers. Orders are confirmed by email once payment clears. If you don’t receive a confirmation within an hour, check your spam folder before contacting us.
Shipping
We ship across Canada and the United States via Canada Post. Handling time is 1-3 business days for stock items; transit time depends on destination and the service selected at checkout. Custom and commissioned pieces have a build window communicated separately when the order is placed.
Returns and Refunds
Our full return policy is on the Refund and Returns Policy page. Short version: 30-day returns on stock items (buyer pays return shipping), custom and commissioned work is final sale.
Custom and Commissioned Work
Custom orders involve a scope discussion before work begins. Once scope is agreed and a deposit is paid, the order proceeds on the basis of that agreement. Substantial scope changes after work has started may incur additional cost or time, communicated and approved before work continues.
Intellectual Property
The Northern Prairie Woodworks name, logo, photography, written content, and digital design files on this site are the property of the studio. You may share product photos for the purpose of reviewing or referring to a purchase you’ve made. Commercial reproduction, redistribution of digital files, or use of the brand identity in other contexts requires prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
Wooden cutting boards and culinary tools are intended for the uses described on each product page. Maintenance is the user’s responsibility (see the Care Instructions page). We are not liable for damage resulting from improper use, dishwasher exposure, prolonged water contact, or modifications to the product.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Northern Prairie Woodworks’ total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product.
Review Requests
After your order arrives and you have had time to use it, we may send you an email asking how it is working out and inviting you to leave a public review. You can opt out at checkout, unsubscribe from any review request you receive, or email info@northernprairiewoodworks.ca. Reviews are entirely optional and never affect your order or any future orders.
Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the laws of Canada applicable in Manitoba. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by direct communication will be addressed in the courts of Manitoba.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in how the business operates. The “last updated” date at the top will change accordingly. Material changes will not retroactively affect orders already placed.
