Commercial and batch orders

Twenty of the same thing, or a hundred. Branded boards for a client list. Serving boards a kitchen will actually use every night. Awards, gifts, repeat runs. Made in Manitoba, by one shop, to the same standard as the one-offs.

What I take on

• Restaurants and kitchens — serving and prep boards in matching sizes, built so you can order the same thing again in two years.
• Corporate gifts — boards, charcuterie boards and home-bar pieces with your logo, for clients or for staff.
• Awards and recognition pieces — engraved, numbered, repeatable.
• Retail and market runs — a batch of the same item for a shop or an event.
• CNC production work — carved or engraved components, cut to your file or to mine.

The minimum

Twenty of the same item. Below that it is not really a batch — the setup costs the same whether I make one or nineteen, so you would be paying one-off prices anyway. Under twenty, order from the shop or start a project.

Twenty each of two different items is fine. It is twenty per item, not twenty in total.

Branding and engraving

There are two completely different jobs here, and the difference drives both your price and your date:

• One design on every piece. Your logo on all one hundred. One setup, then the batch runs. This is the efficient one, and the per-piece cost drops as the count goes up.
• A different engraving on each piece. A hundred names, titles or dates is a hundred setups, not one. It costs more per piece and it needs noticeably more time in the shop.

Both are welcome. If you are doing per-recipient engraving, the name list needs to be final before I start — one spreadsheet, spelled the way you want it read in ten years.

You will get a mockup showing placement and size to approve before anything is engraved.

Timing

A batch of twenty to fifty with one design on every piece takes four to eight weeks. Where it lands in that range depends on the product and on what else is in the shop when you order.

Per-recipient engraving needs longer than that, because it is a hundred setups rather than one. Tell me the count and I will give you a real date rather than a range.

Ordering for Christmas? Talk to me by the end of September. Batches agreed in October are usually workable. November is tight, and I would rather say so now than in December.

Price

Batch pricing depends on the item, the wood, the count, and whether every piece carries the same engraving. Tell me those four things and you will have a firm quote inside two business days — not a range, a number.

Half up front to schedule the run, balance before it ships. Ships to one address as standard; multiple addresses can be done and I will quote it separately.
